Promotions are a great way to increase brand awareness and/or visibility. A brand can run simple contest by using a hashtag or choose professional service like Nitrogr.am

These great thing about a photo contest is that it can run on a single platform or across several of them like (Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook) and cross promote those pages. Also giving you a look into what your followers and/or fans are willing to participate in and gauge what interests them the most.

  • Make sure that the official terms and conditions for the contest are publicly available or the promotion may backfire.
  • Remember to choose an account name that’s the same as the Twitter handle of your business.
  • Enable notifications so you can see when people share or comment on your photos. This will let you engage with them more quickly.
  • Brand your photos so they all have your logo attached. Maybe have a small printed out logo to hold up (by hand) in the corner of your shot as you take it.
  • Establish a hashtag for your business from the start, so that you can provide consistency and something customers can memorize.
